Our new "InfinityMoiré" algorithm is an improvement of our basic " Infinity" feature, one of the most popular plugins of Popims Animator software.
While "Infinity" allowed to create 3D planes with a continuous movement either behind or beyond the lenticular surface starting from any Popims Animation, the new "InfinityMoiré" feature allows to create shapes that are not necessarily planes, such as convex or concave volumes, for example 3D logos .
- Popims "InfinityMoiré" uses a depthmap to define the depth of each part of the design, which makes it possible to create almost any fancy surface.
- As is already was the case with Infinity, this pattern may be still or animated (any type of Popims Animation)
- When using highly constrasted patterns, "InfinityMoiré" is even compatible with spaced apart lenses, and allows very powerful 3D effects (for example 5 inches to the front + 5 inches to the back for a glazing having with a thickness of one fourth of an inch).
We developed this function primarily for security printing applications (banknote paper, official documents, credit cards, brand protection, tickets, diplomas, certificates, etc.), and found a patent pending technique that enables using lenses that have a resolution close to the printing resolution of the coded image, which enables using "InfinityMoiré" in conjunction with extremely high resolution LensPrinter printed lenticular arrays.
Some customers proposed to use "InfinityMoiré" for other markets, especially packaging, stationery and decoration (wallpapers and glazing products for example). It will certainly lead to attractive innovations in these markets, in the near future.
The "InfinityMoiré" feature is not delivered with the free or professional versions of Popims Animator. Similarly to our high definition RIP, this function is made available to Popims professional licensees as a service.
